Over the last two years, Brian and Atlanta MRO Supply have been partnered with the Academy and have had some great experiences. Brian talks about the most recent one, the Rock Star Custodian program.
Some sessions with the Academy have been LIVE and in person at a few Atlanta locations, while others have been utilizing technology and the web.
Listen as the two tell you what you can expect to get when you join the ACE family of regional campuses.

Mike Seebeck with Earthlabs/HDOX and Dave with the Academy of Cleaning Excellence were both in the GEM Supply booth at the FSPMA conference this week in Orlando, FL. The two guys talk to distributors around the country as to the benefits of professional development and partnering with operations such as GEM Supply.
The Rock Star series of motivational sessions was on Mikes’s mind as he attended a couple of sessions and then applied the thought processes while on the show floor.
Mike can be reached at email@example.com
Dr. Aaron Buchko has signed on to be a regular on our show and first of all, we want to say THANK YOU.
Aaron is a professor at Bradley University and during this conversation with Dave, he speaks about the classroom and cleaning from his perspective. How the changes in the classroom affect him and his student’s ability to both teach and learn.
If you thought that you as a custodian, janitor, cleaner, technician or whatever you want to call us, didn’t have an impact, listen to this.
You will also want to listen to the end of the show to find out what the guys have to say about “Changing Habits”, driving a different way and the Dutch Owens classic.
Don’t forget that voting for the Rock Star Custodian for 2019 is now open and the twelve finalists have over 85,000 votes so far. Go to www.RockStarCustodian.com

During this year as the Academy of Cleaning Excellence presented the Rock Star program around the country, nominations have been received from across the nation. The 12 finalists have been announced and now it is your turn to vote.
In order to get to this point, the individual who nominated them had a nine (9) point qualification dashboard to follow, based on the Rock Star Custodian program.
Please read what they have to say about their nominee and vote.
There is only one vote per person.
Today, Aaron talks with Dave about the use of gamification in learning and the differences between education/learning and training.
Please pardon the background noise as the two guys are by the pool while Aaron is on vacation at Disney.
Dr. Aaron Buchko is a professor of management in the Foster College of Business, Bradley University, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Planning and Strategy and graduate courses in Executive Development and Business Ethics.
The Academy has a new outlet for its’ podcasts, Beyond Clean With ACE.
We have been on the air taping different messages from people around the country who have something to say. As the Academy moves through the third season, we have found it beneficial for all if we have our own podcast channel.
This new channel is devoted to engaging, inspiring and motivation of people within the cleaning industry.
Enjoy, engage and share these podcasts.
The two guys have been very busy over the summer and take this opportunity to catch you up on what is going on at both GEM Supply and the Academy.
Joe Anacleto is the newest member of the GEM family, and as Bobby tells us, a specialist in restroom care. You can reach Joe at JAnacleto@gemsupply.net
At the time of this broadcast, Dave is in Ruston, LA getting ready to present the full Rock Star series to the Lincoln Parish School district after they saw the keynote session earlier in the year at the National School Plant Management conference.
He goes on to tell us that the University of Maryland will be hosting a two-day event in Baltimore next month.
Both remind you that the first round of the Rock Star Custodian nominations is over in just 60 more days and you should go towww.RockStarCustodian.com to nominate your frontline or supervisory Rock Star now.

Since it’s back to school time when the two guys get together again the conversation is going to be about Instant Hand Sanitizer. Pros and Cons….what do you think?
Dave Thompson is the Director of the Academy of Cleaning Excellence and host of this show.
Apparently, some podcasters have been wondering why we haven’t been on the air, so Dave is here to catch you up.
Clean Buildings Expo, you heard about it on the last podcast from Dan Weltin. Mark from Ashley Furniture in Mississippi was there and had the Academy bring the first session of the Rock Star Program to them at the plant. Dave talks a bit about it here.
Triple S had the national conference in Arizona this past month and the Academy is now a Value Added Vendor of education. During the week, Dave tells us that 20 distributors signed up to be regional campuses. I’d stay tuned as there is surely more information on that to come.
ISSA and Mark Warner were in the house, literally, they were at GEM Supply using the Academy classroom for their Supervisors Bootcamp.
The Academy will be on the road with the Rock Star program to the GAPPA conference next week plus a full week in Texas during the middle of June.
Question of the day from Dave.
Do you like email, text messaging or snail mail? Which way do you like your communication these days? Bobby and Dave have been talking about this and would like your feedback.
